"Ex- Basketball Player " Paragraph
School athletics are important to me because sports come with many lessons and qualities along with academic motivation. I do think that it prepares young people for life because as I said before, it teaches a student a lesson, and not just for basketball, but for life and its hardships it throws at you. For Example, It teaches discipline because your coach has a higher authority that the athlete and deserves respect. Additionally, it teaches patience because in order to learn and play well an athlete needs patience. Also, it teaches teamwork. This is so because without a team nothing will succeed. As a result athletics are important in a young person’s life because of the lessons and ethnics taught.

Persuading You to Read a Blog
Reading someone’s blog in general is very important. This is so because they put so much effort in making a post every day, or in this case completing an assignment. Now adding to that fact an incoming freshmen is just doing what they are being told and if they see that people are acknowledging their work and actually using it as a social network they will begin viewing things differently. A freshman in high school is like a sponge and soaks in what they learn and if we teach them how to communicate and help them, those are the traits they will learn.

What It Means To Be A Sophmore
It takes much responsibility to be a sophomore. This means that a student already has experience and should be a couple steps higher than freshmen that just came from middle school. This is so because the student’s mentality should have matured knowing that in high school there is no messing around. It is okay to have fun but overall academics is the main focus. Another responsibility of a sophomore is to be a role model to the freshmen and look up to the juniors. That is what it takes to be a sophomore in high school today.

SPA Poem
S.P.A. is only fantastic if you’re a savage
Just trying to play sports and keep up my grade point average
If you want the drama you can wrap it up and bag it
Just let it be known that Jojo doesn’t have it
S.P.A. is only what you make of it
So don’t make a mistake of it
It’s not that boring if you get a hobby to replace it with
S.P.A. has so many rules
But that’s only because it has ten-times as many fools
We have a gym, recreational room, and a pool
I just stay on the low and keep my cool
S.P.A. sometimes gets me sick and makes me want to hurl
There’s sometimes creatures running around like snakes and squirrels
I keep my focus on academics but get off task with girls
S.P.A. makes life a bit drastic
Most kids lie and stretch the truth as if it were elastic
So I just stick with 6 other people that are FANTASTIC!

Free Choice Blog Post
I have been real busy lately. I have had plans on pass, homework for school, just recently quit a job, and it is getting quite overwhelming. I like the fact that I always have something to do, but now I appreciate the fact I can just relax. Now that I quit my job I have more time to sleep and get ready in the morning. I am currently aiming for a 4.0 and I am praying I make it. Though my life consists of many complicated events and things I love it. I think the way people act is so funny, while my life is fantastic. Anyways, that's just what I've been up to.

"Grape Sherbet" Blog post 2011
I can relate to this poem because it reminds me of when I went to my step-great grandfather's funeral. I remember walking through the cemetery not believing that there were so many dead people under my feet. The phrase that helps me imagine this scene was when the poem quotes " We thought no one was lying there under our feet, we though it was a joke.” Being in that type of situation is a bit confusing to a child’s mind and the imagery children use helps a lot. Imagery helps the reader too by letting them understand all the characters senses and it helps them relate to a time they experienced.
Memorable Valentine's Day
My first valentine was in sixth grade. I was only eleven years old and I really wanted to get my girlfriend something (I am pretty romantic). Also, I didn't have any money to buy her anything so I was stuck in a pickle. On Valentine's Day I had to think of something quick, and I decided that instead of writing the bus to school I would go to the store and then walk the rest of the way. The bus dropped me off right in front of "Rite Aid." So, being sneaky, I stole ten-dollars from my grandmother, went to the store, and bought a flower and some chocolate. Although I was super shy I walked with a limp, handed her the gifts, and got my valentines kiss. We were both happy, and that was my first real valentine.

"Remember" Homework paragraph
Lines nineteen through twenty-two mean more than what it is literally saying. These statements are logical because its big meaning is obviously true. Basically what we do creates how life is. For example, when we mess up more laws come about. Another example is how we are not just in the universe but we are. The universe is nothing without us. A final example would be that our culture, from languages to dancing, comes from us. We are more important than even we can comprehend, and the poem is helping us understand. I do agree with the two statements being logical.
"Remember" Become a Poem Paragraph
"Entering the Poets world, I think she wrote this story and published it because she thought people didn't respect themselves and where they live. Another example, If I was the poet I would have published this because I might of realized what other people don't, and I apreciate my world and all who live in it. A final example, If I were to make a poem and have it published I would do it because the way I described this poem is said in such a way the poem alone can change someones persepctive.
This poem made me feel ashamed because I see how orrible people treat each other and our world.

Heartbroke Response
In the poem "Heart! We will forget him!" the speaker in the poem speaks directly to her heart as if it were another person, a possible reason she talks to her heart seperately could be because it makes her feel as if she is not alone. I thnk her boyfriend cheated on her. Personification is giving non-living things human characteristics. The author uses personification and it just shows how she can cope with her problems and fell as if she had company. One way I can relate to this poem is when I was heartbroken. I felt almost this bad and I thought alot to compsny myself.

My style
When I was in eight-grade I felt as if I needed a new look because I felt as if I needed to update my style. I felt as if how I dressed was dull, and I looked up to my friend’s style, which was a bit abstract. I didn't need more attention it was more of a moral gesture. I started wearing skinny jeans, a lot of colors, and more updated shoes. I felt as if the way I dressed was representing me and it still is. And if I was to dressing to impress it would be all of my peers that I hung out with. When I changed my style I felt more accepted and "fresh." I actually liked the way I dressed at the time. I constantly change the way I dress due to what I like. Now my style is my decisions and is based on what I like.

Imagery in a Song
The name of the song that reprsents my life is called, "Runaway Love" by Ludacris and Mary J. Blige. One example is right before the hook when it says, Nothin' else to do but get some clothes and pack. She says she's 'bout to run away and never come back." That reminds me of when my brothers and I ran away four years ago. Another example is when the song states, Yells and abuses, leaves her with some bruises. Teachers ask questions, she's makin' up excuses. Bleedin' on the inside, cryin' on the out." This shows me an image in my head of when my brothers and I were abused. Lastly, when the song says, "...is eleven years old. She's steady tryin' to figure why the world is so cold," reminds me of when I was eleven and how I viewed the world. When I hear this song I am not sad, but happy because it shows me how much I've been through and just what I had to go through to get where I am at today.
"Runaway Love" by Ludacris and Mary J. Blige
Yeah and it go a little somethin' like this
Yeah and it go a little somethin' like this
Runaway love, runaway love
Runaway love, runaway love
Runaway love, runaway love
Runaway love, runaway love
Now little Lisa's only nine years old
She's tryin' to figure out why the world is so cold
Why she's all alone and they never met her family
Momma's always gone and she never met her daddy
Part of her is missin' and nobody'll listen
Momma's on drugs, gettin' *** up in the kitchen
Startin' with some laughs, usually endin' in a fight
Sneakin' in her room when her momma's knocked out
Tryin' to have his way and little Lisa says ouch
She tries to resist but then all he does is beat her
Tries to tell her mom but her momma don't believe her
Lisa's stuck up in a world on her own
Forced to think that Hell is a place called home
Nothin' else to do but get some clothes and pack
She says she's 'bout to run away and never come back
Runaway love, runaway love
Runaway love, runaway love
Runaway love, runaway love
Runaway love, runaway love
Little Nicole is only ten years old
She's steady tryin' to figure why the world is so cold
Why she's not pretty and nobody seems to like her
Alcoholic step-dad always wanna strike her
Yells and abuses, leaves her with some bruises
Teachers ask questions, she's makin' up excuses
Bleedin' on the inside, cryin' on the out
It's only one girl really knows what she's about
Her name is little Stacy and they become friends
Promise that they'll always be tight 'til the end
Until one day, lil' Stacy gets shot
A drive-by bullet went stray up on her block
Now Nicole's stuck up in a world on her own
Forced to think that Hell is a place called home
Nothin' else to do but get her clothes and pack
She says she's 'bout to run away and never come back
Runaway love, runaway love
Runaway love, runaway love
Runaway love, runaway love
Runaway love, runaway love
Little Erica is eleven years old
She's steady tryin' to figure why the world is so cold
So she pops *** to get rid of all the pain
Plus she's havin' sex with her boy who's sixteen
Emotions run deep as she thinks she's in love
So there's no protection, he's usin' no glove
Never thinkin' 'bout the consequences of her actions
Livin' for today and not tomorrow's satisfaction
The days go by and her belly gets big
The father bails out, he ain't ready for a kid
Knowin' her momma would blow it all out of proportion
Plus she lives poor, so no money for abortion
Erica is stuck up in a world on her own
Forced to think that Hell is a place called home
Nothin' else to do but get her clothes and pack
She says she 'bout to run away and never come back
Runaway love, runaway love
Runaway love, runaway love
Runaway love, runaway love
Runaway love, runaway love
Runaway love, runaway love
Runaway love, runaway love
Runaway love, runaway love
Runaway love, runaway love
Runaway, runaway love
Don't keep runnin' away
I'll run away with you
If you want me to
Yeah, I can only imagine what you goin' through, ladies
Sometimes I feel like runnin' away myself
So do me a favor right now and close your eyes
And picture us runnin' away together
When we come back, everything is gonna be okay
Open your eyes

“A Storm in the Mountains” One with Nature
I went on a hike one day with my brother. We ran all the way to the top non-stop. It took about 90 minutes. When we reached the top I had to look down to see things. I saw treetops, other mountain tops, and lakes. I heard almost nothing but the breeze against my ears. At the top I had to climb a couple rocks and I stood on top of the water fountain. I did this to be on the highest point possible. I felt above everyone, and that I was free. It was a pretty intense feeling. This experience impacted my life by helping me understand where I concentrate better and showing me how much more of the world I haven't seen.

Paragraph to Persuade You to Read My Poem
"I Am Offering This Poem to You" by Jimmy Santiago Baca is a great poem. This poem should be read because the literary devices that are being used are great for practicing the terms and learning them yourself. The poem is about a man giving this poem to somebody. This poem symbolizes love, and he states that love is the only thing a person really needs. The only reason why someone might not read this poem is because of how sentimental and "corny" it is, but the point that it is being made with it is almost completely different. The best part of the poem is its analogies and comparisons. Or another words its metaphors and similes.

Imagery in a Selected Poem Paragraph
An example of imagery in this poem is "And sings the tune without the words, and never stops at all..." This example appeals to my sense of hearing. It almost makes me feel annoyed because birds chirping annoys me. Another example of imagery is "Hope is the thing with feathers that perches in the soul..." This example appeals to my sense of sight. This makes me feel curious just imagining the picture in my head. In addition, another example is "That could abash the little bird that kept so many warm." This example appeals to my sense of touch. just the thought of this makes me feel soothed.
The usage of imagery helps express feelings by the things it makes the reader feel and/or see.
