Childhood Song [10 S.S.O. 1/29]

When I was a little kid I wasn’t really into music which I regret a lot. I remember my cousins and I used to hang out and I remember them singing a song, word for word and I thought it was so cool. One of my cousins, who is a girl, always played this song named “Skater Boy” by Avra Laveign. I liked the way it sounded so I started listening to more hip-hop music, but that was the song that I remember listening to when I was little and he song that mainly got me into music which now I can’t live without.

Rhyme Zone Poem

BALENCESTO…

A dream of many
Achieving in school then in life
It wouldn’t cost a penny
Get it together, more adequate than a table knife
Once you reached these expectations
Keep your mind set
Take initiative with no invitations
Be on the court meet the ball, meet the net

Stay off your toes learn the basics
Jump stop, pump fake, bank shot
WAIT!, shoes untied, lace it
In basketball I get so low it’s like I’m always in a squat
Don’t stop just because the season is over
Keep your head up have confidence
Let it be skill unlike a lucky four-leaf clover
Your ball is your money; your ball is your allowance

Balencesto means basketball
In Spanish so get it straight
Like your shot because your life is a three don’t air ball
But if you miss, do it again like a clean slate

Now you have completed your goals within your teenage years
Stayed out of trouble well for the most part
Avoiding temptation from your piers
Have respect with a strong heart
Now it’s time to move on with a ready attitude
Go to college and do your best
Better say thanks to your coach, show some gratitude
And don’t forget to cheer up the guests

You now realize you are really good
Better take advantage and excel
Like it’s time to move away from your hood
Say your goodbyes say farewell
You are in Pro it’s time to step up even more as a player
But not by yourself with your new team
Even though I shoot from far they call me the downtown mayor
Then, you wake up from your dream
In your bunk bed with your pajamas on
Now motivated, woke up, and read for thirty minutes
Can’t wait to play basketball so I run to the lawn
Having the Cavs on your mind and ask your teacher “where’s an atlas?”

The rhyme scheme is ABABCDCDEFEFGHGH....

Podcast Poem Preview

From childhood's hour I have not been
As others were---I have not seen
As others saw---I could not bring
My passions from a common spring.
From the same source I have not taken
My sorrow; I could not awaken
My heart to joy at the same tone;
And all I lov'd, I loved alone.
Then---in my childhood---in the dawn
Of a most stormy life---was drawn
From ev'ry depth of good and ill
The mystery which binds me still:
From the torrent, or the fountain,
From the red cliff of the mountain,
From the sun that 'round me roll'd
In its autumn tint of gold---
From the lightning in the sky
As it pass'd me flying by---
From the thunder and the storm,
And the cloud that took the form
(When the rest of Heaven was blue)
Of a demon in my view.

Hamburger Paragraph

My winter break was filled with fun events and great meals. Before Christmas I went to a dinner with Quinten Jammer and his family. It was a big feast. Then on Christmas Eve I Went to this event named Big Animals. I dressed up as Curious Gorge and walked around hugging little kids and giving them gifts. On Christmas morning I woke up early and with my roommate we opened presents. Right after that I fell back asleep. Then that afternoon I went to the café and they had a big lunch for Christmas which was very delicious. On New Year’s Eve I went to the dance also at the café which was great. I think this was one of my best winter breaks ever!

10 Second Sound Off [1/1/10]

This year in 2010 I'm looking forward to seeing my brother more often. Also, this year I want to save up all of my money and buy something that is worth buying. I am excited this year to pass the 9th grade, become a softmore, and celebrate my birthday with all of my friends and family. I also want to start going on passes more. I want to get mostly A's in my next report card. That is what i want to happen in 2010.

10 Second Sound Off [12/31]

My life in 2009 was crazy. I was in many different placements this year including the one I'm in now. This year I realized reality and I knew who was going to be there for me and who wasn't. I also got more connected with my family for a while. This year I have made my bond with my brothers just so much stronger than it was. This year I learned many peoples thoughts and feelings about me. And this year I grew, learned from my mistakes, and came to the conclusion to do the best to my ability in 2010.

10 Second Sound Off [12/30]

The most beautiful thing I've seen was probably when I was seven. I was living with my grandmother and she showed me a picture of my mother. My mother was beautiful. Before she did all these drugs and illegal uses she was pretty. She was wearing a dress and had a cooking apron on. Still to this moment I can remember her face and how when I looked at it and saw her face glow. She reminded me of an angel and I was proud to call her my mother.

10 Second Sound Off [12/29]

If I was forced to take over any adult position it would be Coach Mannings. I would take this position because I like sports and I will also work here as the P.E. teacher. During the week I took over I would make myself the assistant coach of the boys and girls baskettbal team. I will be a great teacher and have fun with the kids. Also I will make sure I get my pay check that week. That's who I would be if I could take over any adult's position.

10 Second Sound Off [12/28]

Actually yesterday I went to girls-6 to hang out with my sister Adrianna. Many people were there and we were all listening to music and Kristana didn't know the song that we were talking about. Therefore we gave her the ipod to listen to it. This ipod had speakers so if you didn't plug in the headphones you anyone can hear it. Kristana put the headphones in her ear and started to listen to it. It was funny because everyone else was able to hear the song too and she didn't put the earphones all the way in. I was rolling on the floor because she thought she was using the headphones. It was hilarious.

10 Second Sound Off [12/27]

My room is boring. It starts off with my two dresser stacked on each other then on top are my colognes. Next to that I have my two laundry baskets, one for whites and the other for colors. Then along with my baskets there is a big box of clothes that I don't wear. Alongside to the box is my also bed parallel to the wall. My bed has a green and blue blanket on it with my charger pillow. On top of my Chargers pillow I are my two stuffed animals: Tiger and a dolphin. Across the foot of my bed, on the other wall is my closet. my closet has all my clothes hung up and mu shoes aligned from the top shelve to the floor. In my closet I have two bins stacked up next to a dresser that has more shoes on it. Then following my closet is my desk with no computer in it. I put some of my drawings on it and other junk filling up the shelves.
