Homonyms Poems

I can’t wait for the new school year to start

My favorite part of last year was right before school, the walking part

I remember the scent of the morning dew

And when the wind blew by my face I would do as I always did do

I looked down at the road, and I did not know what was ahead of me

I could hear someone in my presence ahead, so I stepped on a wood rail steadily

I had to balance my weight and then I jumped off and finished my hike

I did this all week whether the weather was good or bad, and I never rode a skateboard or bike

This whole year I plan to walk, but not only to school, but after

I do not know where I was headed; I just followed the breeze which carried laughter

I saw about four people, two, and then no one was in my view and I felt alone

And that was my que to turn around and go home.

Fourth Quarter Kickoff Reflection

The fourth quarter kickoff's intentions are great. At first, all the classes were separated and each of them participated in an activity. Us sophomores watched a great movie and did a little activity regarding the movie. Then we were separated into teams to compete in several sports. I could not participate due to my knee injury which still leaves me crippled. So, before the day was over Pablo and I went back to my house early and I slept. I was happy I was able to return home earlier than anyone else. That was the fourth quarter kickoff for S.P.A.

Fourth Quarter Goals

I learned many things but my greatest accomplishment was achieving a 4.0. This quarter I will try my hardest to maintain that 4.0. In order to achieve this one more time I have to work hard again, but this time I wouldn't like to barely pass, but to pass with flying colors. This quarter I need to devote more time to academics and lastly I need to pay attention in class. I always have but a little more attention wouldn't hurt.

“Where Have You Gone, Charming Billy?” Narrative

April 13, 1955. My name is Paul Berlin, but some of my friends call me First Class Paul Berlin. Today was my first day out in war, Oh was I scared! I have been frightened, nervous, and anxious this whole day. Today has been really stressful. One of my fellow soldiers had a heart attack! He was shot in the foot and was bleeding all over. Then, he was so afraid that he was going to die it caused him to have a heart attack, and guess what happened? He died! This soldier on his first day out died. I can’t believe it, some of the other soldiers tried to help me stay brave and tell me how I’m going to get used to things like this as time goes. But until then nothing can change my feelings. Not even the ocean which I hear and smell. But I hope that day comes soon because as of right now I’m still scared out of my mind.

What I Learned in the Third Quarter of English 9/10

In the third quarter I learned a lot. I learned many terms which I had to master. For example, symbolism, allegory, and imagery. All these terms are types of figurative language. Figurative language can be found in a lot of text, but mostly in poems. I also learned about sources. For example, primary and secondary sources. I learned the credibility of each, I learned how to separate these two for what they really are, and I learned how to use them to my advantage. That is just the broad idea of what I learned in the third quarter of this year.
